Piano lessons, collaborative piano and rehearsal support

Mariam Chitanava teaches piano to children and young students, and works as a collaborative pianist with instrumentalists and ensembles. She studied at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, where she was a collaborative pianist for Professor Zakhar Bron's class. Her work also includes accompanying violin, viola and cello classes at the Villa de Lerma Music Project.

Piano lessons

Individual piano lessons for children and young students, from first steps to advanced repertoire. Lessons can focus on technique, interpretation, sight-reading and preparing repertoire for an audition, exam or personal goal. Mariam has taught privately and in school settings for more than ten years.

Lessons are available online. From mid-October 2026, in-person lessons are planned at her E14 teaching space or at the student's home in selected London areas. Lessons can be taught in English, Russian, Georgian or Spanish.

Collaborative piano for instrumentalists

A pianist for lessons, classes and rehearsals with violin, viola, cello and other instrumentalists where the repertoire fits. Mariam works with the soloist or teacher on balance, timing, phrasing and ensemble listening. At Reina Sofía, she worked with Professor Zakhar Bron's class; at Villa de Lerma she accompanied string classes.

For a new piece or a short-notice session, send the score and dates when enquiring so she can confirm the fit and preparation time.

Audition and exam accompaniment

Piano accompaniment and rehearsal time for instrumental or vocal auditions, assessments and practical music exams. The aim is to give the candidate time with a live pianist before the appointment, not just meet at the door on exam day. Share the full repertoire, piano parts, venue and timings to check availability and quote.

This is accompaniment for candidates, not a claim that Mariam teaches any particular exam board's syllabus.

Chamber music coaching and rehearsal

Rehearsal support for duos and small ensembles, including work on ensemble timing, phrasing and preparing a programme. Mariam has worked as a chamber pianist and with instrumental classes. Describe the ensemble, repertoire and what help you need when enquiring.

Choir and vocal rehearsal piano

Mariam has accompanied choir rehearsals at USP CEU in Madrid. She can discuss piano support for a choir or singer's rehearsal, subject to the repertoire, schedule and location. For vocal work, please share scores in advance; opera répétiteur coaching and conducting are not listed as services here.
